Meet Our Team
Carol Kennedy – Practice Manager
Carol Kennedy has been with our practice since its inception. She has over 20 years of experience in medicine, with roles ranging from office manager, to hospital and laboratory sales and marketing, to physician relations. Her role includes overseeing the daily operations of the practices and accommodating the financial needs of our patients. Carol was born and raised in Northern Kentucky as one of seven children. She is the proud mother of Tiffany and Shane, although she will tell you that the greatest title she has ever held is Grandmother to 4 adoring grandchildren. Outside of the office, Carol enjoys shopping, cooking, going to the beach, and spending time with her family.
Penny Chandler – Practice Manager
Penny Chandler joined our staff in 2011. Penny has 20 years experience in office management with the majority of that experience in the dental field. Penny enjoys working with patients and assisting in navigating the administrative side of their care. Penny was born and raised in the Dayton area and has raised her family here as well. Her greatest joy has been to raise her children and to now spend time with her 4 precious grandchildren. Outside of the office, Penny enjoys socializing with family and friends, biking, boating and reading.
Kelsey Barney – Office Administration
Kelsey Barney joined our practice in 2018. Although Kelsey is new to dentistry, she has 8 years experience in the medical field with roles ranging from marketing to administration. In any role she has held, Kelsey believes that providing exceptional customer service is a top priority. She finds her position at Harris Periodontics very rewarding because of the opportunity to create a positive experience for each patient. Kelsey was born and raised in Dayton and now lives in Spring Valley Township with her family. Outside of work, Kelsey enjoys spending time with family and friends.
Nikole Harp – Dental Assistant
Nikole Harp joined our practice shortly after completing the dental assisting program at Kaplan College. She knew at a young age she wanted to help people create confident smiles and has enjoyed doing that here at Harris Periodontics and Implant Dentistry. Outside the office, Nikole spends most of her time with her family and friends, going to the gym and providing service within her community.
Amy Wilson - Dental Assistant
Amy Wilson joined our practice in 2011. She has 25 years experience as a dental assistant. Amy loves people and enjoys helping them feel comfortable through her natural compassion and caring. Amy strives to provide the best quality care to her patients. Outside the practice Amy enjoys her three children and working with her husband on their farm, gardening, swimming and spending time together.
Mariah Welch – Dental Assistant
Mariah is a certified dental assistant and has been in the dental field since 2013. She completed her assistant schooling at Kaplan College and has since gained experience in general dentistry, oral surgery and periodontal surgery. She knew at a young age this was her passion with the support of her grandparents. Mariah has a fun-loving personality and fits in well at Harris periodontics and implant dentistry. She loves to be outdoors and spends most of her time in the sand playing volleyball with friends.
Caitlin Newman – Dental Assistant
Caitlin Newman joined our practice in 2014 after completing the Dental Assisting Program at Ross Medical Education Center. Caitlin enjoys science and technology and loves merging that with her love of people to bring quality care to patients. Outside of the practice, Caitlin enjoys celebrating and relaxing with her family and friends.
Sonja Bachman – Dental Hygientist
Sonja Bachmann has been a part of our team since 2013. She graduated with honors as a Registered Dental Hygienist from Sinclair Community College in 2008. Sonja’s passion for dental hygiene drives her desire to provide excellent oral care for her patients in a caring and comfortable atmosphere. It is important to Sonja to help her patients understand the relationship between oral care and overall health. Sonja loves get-togethers with family and friends, she enjoys the outdoors and hiking with her husband and Golden Retriever, Maya.
Tara O’Neil – Dental Hygienist
Tara O’Neill joined the Harris Periodontics team in 2015. She graduated Sinclair Community College in 2008 with an Associate of Health Science in Dental Hygiene. Tara is passionate about offering thorough, patient centered care to everyone with a focus on patient comfort. She takes pride in maintaining the oral health and well-being of every patient as individuals. Tara enjoys cooking, hiking, and spending time with her husband and wonderful children Blake and Ellie.
Becky Taylor – Dental Hygienist
Becky Taylor joined the Harris Periodontics team in 2018. She graduated as a Registered Dental Hygienist from Sinclair Community College in 2002. Becky is passionate about providing excellent patient care while maintaining patient comfort. Her focus is to treat all patients as individuals and work together as a team to help them achieve optimum oral health. Becky enjoys spending time with her husband and three girls, watching her kids sporting events and gardening.
Beth Heineman – Dental Hygienist and Office Administration
Beth has been part of our team since 2016. She graduated as a Registered Dental Hygienist from Sinclair Community College in 1998. She continues to stay current with continuing education courses. Beth enjoys helping patients achieve better oral health. She also helps patients with the administrative side of their care. Beth enjoys being outside and spending time with her family and friends.
Jennifer McWhinney – Office Administration.
Jennifer McWhinney joined our practice in 2019. She has been in the dental field since 1994 as a certified dental assistant and more recently in office administration. Through her years in dentistry she prides herself in delivering excellent customer service to her patients and their family. Jennifer lives on a farm with her husband and 4 children. She enjoys spending time with her family, watching kids sporting events, helping with their 4-H animals and projects as well as reading and traveling.
